Robin Canham, Conservator
Robin Canham is a graduate of the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University (’22) where she specialized in the conservation of works of art on paper, archival documents, photographs, and new media. She also holds a Master of Information Studies, with a focus in Library Studies, from the University of Toronto (’07) and a Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of Regina (’05).
Robin has worked in conservation labs at the Queen’s University Archives, the Provincial Archives of Alberta, and currently holds a Kress Fellowship in Conservation working at the Queen’s University Library, W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections. Previous to her career in conservation, she worked as an academic librarian for over a decade, specializing in online library systems and electronic resources.
Robin maintains many professional memberships and is an active member in the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC-ACCR), American Institute for Conservation (AIC), Guild of Bookworkers (GBW), the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild (CBBAG), and the Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA).
In 2021, Robin was the recipient of a Canada Graduate Scholarship for her research on nanocellulose in paper conservation. A detailed listing of her past-publications and ongoing research can be found on Research Gate.
